Date was 7th march i booked and paid €59 for cork to stansted and return on 9th, would it be possible to completely change the route from dublin to edinburgh on 27/28th february or would i incur large hefty cost? Thanks

No.... unless done within 24 hrs of original booking?

Nope.. Ryanair only allow name changes within 24 hours

You're better off just buying a new ticket from Dublin to Edinburgh.. the fee for changing flights can get ridiculous..

I can't imagine those flights are particularly expensive.

They may not allow you to change both the origin and destination of your flight, and if they do, they'll charge you a change fee plus the difference in the fare if the new flight is more expensive. Still might be slightly cheaper than buying a new ticket, though. Give 'em a ring and ask how much it would cost, if it's even allowed.

You hardly thought Ryanair will do something for free did you?

As far as I know there is a fee to change the destination and the dates. I'm sure you can find the exact amount on their website and compare it to the new flights you're looking at. It might well be cheaper just to book new flights than change the existing ones.

I have just been onto Ryanair 'chat' to try and cancel my 14yr old daughter from our booking. The girl on chat separated my daughter from our booking and gave her a new ref number. I thought that I could, perhaps, then change her to another destination (for a fee obviously) but less that cancelling completely and book myself with her ( this new flight was cheaper than orig (see addendum below)) . This is where it gets tricky. I cant change her booking online as she is u16 and if I make a separate booking myself I need to pay a further €30 to link the new booking to my daughters changed flight - Which I need to do by phone(€€) .. Another €30 (linking fee) just because she is U16 is really annoying me... Sorry, just venting!

Also, Just noticed when I go to 'change flights' on 'manage my booking' The flights that were shown on a search I did 10 mins ago were €19.99 & €43.85 BUT within the 'Manage my booking' are much higher . I seem to remember over €100 & €88 - Big difference. And bringing it just above what I paid for my original flight.. I give up !

One of the reasons that change fees exist is to discourage people from making a bunch of complex or wholesale changes to their bookings at the last minute, because that takes a lot of time on the airline's end and screws up their sales projections, pricing, and route planning. (Well, that and to prevent scalpers from buying up all the initial cheap tickets for popular flights and then reselling them for a big markup...)

Scalpers in the airline travel game ?? Never though that issue existed to be honest.

It doesn't exist because the change fees to change the name on a ticket make it completely unprofitable. If you could buy tickets and change the names on 'em for free whenever you wanted, you could bet there would be scalpers galore trying to profit off it. :pac:
