    Hi i bought my son McAfee total protection for his xmas laptop and when i type in mcafee.com/activate and check it on google search it has a red warning from Kaspersy saying
    Dangerous website
    Dangerous website (according to Kaspersky Security Network)
    http://<snip>/activate/

    http://<snip>/activate/ is not http://mcafee.com/activate/ which is what you should be using.

    It's never a good idea to use 2 AV systems. You appear to have McAfee and Kaspersky, sounds like the shop where you bought the machine screwed you.

    I,m running kaspersky only on my computer but not long after i bought the mcafee for my sons laptop i was talking to a mate about differant anti virus protection and i said that i had just bought mcafee for my sons laptop.He told me to do an internet search regarding mcafee first saying that theres some bogus mcafee phishing sites.....

    You can't have two anti viruses running at the same time. You need to uninstall Kasperky first and then install McAfee.

    Yes, you can, it's just not recommended.

    you can also end up with an unbootable disk, and total loss of data.
    Its unlikely but ive seen it.

    Could you take some time out to read my last post prior to yours and you will see that i state that i,m only running one anti virus only and thats Kaspersky,thanks ...
