    Hi,

People regularly takes students from a schools here, sometimes they are required to provide 3 meals etc and sometime they are not.

The usual stay is 2 weeks but on occasions they apparently stay for 1 month to a school year.

The only paperwork people receive is an intinaray of the students class and their activities etc and the rest of the communication is done via a Facebook group.

Recently I've found out that sometimes students are booked to stay and they receive their info etc and then the booking is cancelled without notice. Sometimes they have students who up and leave to another family on whim after contacting the school.

The family are paid per night the student stays etc but I'm not really looking to debate that.

I'm wondering what the situation is regarding contract law and the cancellations etc.

If A family make an agreement to take a student and the students don't arrive or just up and leave during their stay, does that fall under standard breach of contract law? Similar to if you just left a hotel prior to paying. The law states for a contract to be valid both parties must be in agreement and something of value must be exchange.

I can't find any information on any of the schools websites to obsolve them of liability etc but maybe they send that when you sign up

Anyone have any discussion on this matter or has taken them thay can clarify?
