Brake lights flicker

Just noticed tonight the rear brake lights are abit slow to react, step on the pedal and about 1.5 seconds later the brake lights come on. Then they go off after a few seconds and come on again. Is this the brake light switch? It's the wife's Hyundai coupe 2006..

Yes I'd first look at the brake light switch.
