Engine oil - synthetic or semi synthetic?

    I have a 2009 mondeo 2litre petrol

    i can see oil should 5w 30 however i am confused whether to use fully synthetic or semi synthetic
    I checked service invoices from before i bought car and it just says 5W 30 oil

    thanks for the help

    Do you change it yourself? Do you recall what you put in last?
    If a mechanic did it sometimes they will fill in the service book or note it on a sticker somewhere.

    Stick your reg in here and it'll tell you what (Castrol) oil is recommended. You can get the specs and use a different oil if you prefer.

    I’d get fully synth. Halfords have Ford stuff for €15.
    Check specs.

    i prefare using fully synth mobil 5-30 esp in a spacewagon knowing how clean and protected it will be.
    quality of oil used = life of engine- due to nct fail
