Anybody have the above laptop? I am trying to install windows 8.1 and It's looking for the product key that came with the machine but no product key came with the laptop. I have goggled the product key for this machine and tried every one, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated :)

you need to find your product key - the diff products/ methods... (you said you have tried some but maybe not all)

not sure if a win 10 key will necessarily work with 8.1

win 10 way better than 8.1 imo but each to their own....

Download a HP iso of Win8 and use that, it'll install and activate automatically.

Or else Win10 should activate automatically either as long as the version matches your version eg. home or professional.
