boiler replacement - power flushing?

Just wondering what the consensus is on power flushing for a new gas boiler installation. Some seem to say its always required as it may void the warranty of the boiler if anything were to go wrong and it wasn't done, the manufacturers often stipulate it as a requirement during install. Others say that they would only bother power flushing if the water in the system was really bad with a lot of sludge. Thoughts?

The manufacturers only really require the system water to be clean, if a boiler breaks due to contaminated water it’s not a manufacturing issue so it’s not covered by the warranty.

It’s up to the installer to make sure there is no contamination of the water or to take steps to prevent any contamination having any negative impact on the boiler.

My personal opinion is the water quality dictates the action required.

Also back in the days when I worked for a living after a install I would flush the heating system 3 times, two cold 1 hot to get rid of any ptfe, jointing compound etc from inside the pipe work and fittings because this isn’t being done anymore installers are sometimes causing their own grief by not flushing at the end of the job.
