Car Towing Galway City

Can anyone advise on a good company that is reasonable in the Galway City area for towing cars when broken-down??

I recently had my car towed and got screwed by GALWAY CITY RECOVERY, to say they are a shower of robbing f*ckers is the understatement of the century. Every time I went to retrieve my car there was no-one in the office to process payment therefore I got charged for a number of nights just because they do not keep regular office hours and do not provide any notice of what office hours they do keep.

Also they told me that if I paid in cash rather than by card it would cost €130 less as they would not charge full amount or the VAT which applies. I now know to avoid like the plague and tell everyone to avoid.

I will also be reporting them to Revenue for what you could only call there dodgy dealings regarding the offer of non payment of VAT by paying in cash.

I would be grateful if anyone could suggest a good company or garage that provides a towing/recovery service that will not cost an arm and a leg around the Galway City area.

Place called Rescu-U on the Headford Road.
No idea of the prices but I have used them for servicing and they are sound, honest guys.
    Worth a call anyway.

    .

Woww.... this is what I was wondering for a long time. I had a mechanics who fixed my alternator last year. He wanted only cash and charged me everything plus23% VAT. I guessed he could take all payment plus 23 % VAT as no one know about that payment excepting myself, him and God. Great info. Thanks!

And, why dont you call your insurance company to tow your car when she is broken-down ? They usually provide an hour free labor and a free towing if necessary. As far as I know it does not affect your NCB point.
