Yaris,Micra or ?

Hi,


We're looking to buy a second hand small car and are thinking of a Yaris or a Micra.

Just kinda want to get an opinion on which one would make a better one and if there's certain models better or worse. (Engine size etc)

It'll be mainly used on country side roads with the occasional longer trips (longer being 100km or so), so would assume petrol be more interesting as we have a bigger diesel.

In terms of maintenance costs would the Toyota be better as there seem to be more of them around?

Insurance wise they'd probably work out about the same.

The Yaris seems expensive still if you want anything 2012 or later.

Would be open to other options in similar car size.

The last model Micra is a terrible car. It was really designed for developing countries and feels very cheaply built. And yes the Yaris is expensive but there are plenty of good cars in between that are cheaper than a Yaris but better than a Micra. For example ~ Ford Fiesta, Hyundai i20, Kia Rio, Suzuki Swift, etc.
