Sinking floor - defective insulation - will pumping fix it?

Any advice greatly appreciated. We bought a new build just over 2 yrs ago. After about 6 months we started to notice cracks in tiles and the floors downstairs were sinking. Monitored for bit but continued to get worse, large gaps between floor and skirting boards and more cracks. All downstairs affected. Developer had some core testing done on floor samples. We’ve been told that the issue is with a chemical which was used in the insulation which is causing it to collapse.
The suggestion/fix that has been put forward is to pump something into the floor at various intervals which will apparently raise it back to the correct level.
Has anyone heard of this working as a permanent fix? I am concerned that it is just a quick fix and the cheapest option for them. Should the floor be taken out and redone?
    Thanks P

I am not sure of the company who took the sample, it was arranged by the developer.
