Has anyone any experience of flying direct from Dublin to Orlando with Aer Lingus? Thinking of October 2018 but the flights are a ridiculous price (€1k each) Has anyone tracked these flights before or have inside info about them Are they likely to have a sale / reduce prices for next October

It’s a good service but I wouldn’t pay 1k pp for it, I’d go indirect for probably half that pp

Aer Lingus recently ended a sale with flights up to September so I would expect an October sale soon.

Flight is very convenient but an option which can save you a lot of money is Virgin via London.

We've always gone with the Aer Lingus flight for convenience, no stops and you do immigration in Dublin which is great. But we've never payed 1k per person for a flight. Was always around 600 - 700 per person. My brother is going in September of this year and I think he got the flights for around that price. Maybe high demand in October? Lots of people wanting to go to HHN maybe. :D

End of October is Halloween School break so prices higher, go indirect, save money and break up the flight in Philly/Chicago for a few hours

Where are you seeing these? I see direct flights for 561 return direct and 325 indirect on skyscanner. Try change your dates to look at month as a whole, I have been tracking and these look to be the cheapest at any stage.

United currently have indirect round trips for €385 in October, a quick glance at AL shows no economy seats on some of their October flights are available, 385 is pretty good in fairness

I paid 395; Cork via London on Sept 4th so I am very happy.

Anybody know a great cheap hotel where resort fees are not $25 per night on top of the price paid?

International Drive is rapidly becoming more and more split when you go past Sand Lake Road. So if you are looking for something cheap you should be looking down the outlets side.

A lot of people book their flights to Orlando 11 months in advance so flights would have been available since November 17 for October 18, you may have missed the cheapest AL fares, no-one knows for sure

Economy seems to be sold out on some of their flights in & out of MCO in October, driving up the overall price,

October used to be a quiet month to travel to Orlando, now its busy enough so I'd say demand could be high for economy seats

Early October will be cheaper than leading up to the end because kids are on midterm for Halloween

Don't know whether they are cheap or great but double check these ones

    Holiday Inn LBV
    Rosen Inn
    Staybridge Suites
Holiday Inn Disney Springs & Embassy Suites only charge for parking

I know the Rosen from being in the area so much over the last 20 years. This is a 2 star, its going to be o....k! Dont expect too much.

The other place I know is down by the Pointe Orlando, past where Wet n Wild used to be.

As the first review says.....you get what you pay for!!!!

I booked three months in advance last year with Aer Lingus for approx 550 before it fell to 500 a week later. They go up and down depending on numbers of bookings made and obviously time of year.

You're only paying ALOT extra for going direct and nothing more. Both of my flights departed late 30 mins & 1 hour for unspecified reasons and service is basic, complimentary drinks etc. are poor must be the only transatlantic airline to have to pay for beers.

Find a decent price with Delta, United or American out of Dublin to avail of pre-clearance and connect in the states. Virgin from London or Manchester next best option

I bought my direct AL flights for the end of November last year in April. I paid €518 but I left the skyscanner alert on and it went up as high as €697 and went down as low as €436. I've never seen it go so low before but it did on a number of occasions last year. €500 is usually a decent price.

The two main price drops happened mid Aug and about 5 weeks before my flight, there might have been more sub €500 prices but I didn't keep the alerts.

You would have to have nerves of steel at 5 weeks out because the price alerts bounced up and down like a yoyo at that point. One day €446 the next it would be back up near €600.

I'd make sure it's South of Sand Lake Rd, on the VINELAND outlets side, not the old Belz outlets, going under the name of Orlando International Premium Outlets.

It's confusing now that they're both Premium Outlets.

So I’m heading with the family at the end of April, staying in Floridays, which I think is not far from Vineland ( looking at Google Maps). It’ll be the trolley thing to the parks I’d say, prob hire a car for a couple of days too, but in terms of evening eating/ drinking ( with 8 & 11 y.o.) are we close to many other places?

If it's near the Vineland outlets then no. It's not on international drive, it's past Seaworld on the trolley. It's commutable but you wouldn't have the choices you would have to eat/drink locally that you would on international drive. I'm sure there are places nearby as nothing is that isolated.

I usually stay in the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando mainly because it is a good quality budget hotel. It's basic but clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. It's also in the 'right' part of international drive. If you shop around you can get it for about €55 a night.

Todays posts split from the old thread. No need to bump it when no bargain posted.

The address there is still International Drive, and it's a much nicer part of it imo.
