    Hi all,

Looking to upgrade our car to something more suitable to a family. Restricted to just automatics though as the wife can't drive manual :(

So with a budget of 5k is there any recommendations out there? She wants a Nissan Quasqai however there isn't too many automatics about. Anything else similar to the Quasqai we should be looking at?

A MKII Toyota Prius - automatic, plenty of space in the back, large boot, VERY reliable, and about as cheap to run as you can get for a decent sized car. One with a full Toyota service history is best if you can. 06 or 07 should be available for about 5k. Not exciting to drive but thats rarely needed in a family car!

Cheers, apparently that doesn't cut the mustard with what she wants! Cars we are looking at are the hyundai santa fe, Honda CRV and Nissan Quasqais. Any thoughts on those? Honda seems very good value for me on the second hand market.

I drive a 2010 Nissan Qasqhai Automatic with all the extras, panoramic sun roof, dual air conditioning etc; it's a great car I can tell you. Would recommend it for sure. BTW i am a lady driver and can drive manual too but just prefer Automatic.

RAV4 06 onwards model would be worth a look. They’re 2.0 petrol, but so is Qashqai?

This is a good bit overpriced IMO

At the moment I am actively looking at cars. But just to give you the rundown on my Qasqhai it's, 2010 Silver/blue in colour. 17" Alloy wheels, Panoramic Sun Roof, Dual Air Con, 2.0ltre Petrol, 125kms on the clock. Great sound system in it. 6 CD player, bluetooth phone, automatic lights and sensor wipers.
