Hi, so I found out I’m pregnant just before Christmas, I’m registered as a mature student in my 1st year of a 3 year course. The baby will be due early August and I know it’s probably a bit mad but I really would like to continue studying in September. But it looks like that isn’t possible due to having to have been on social welfare payments for 9 months before being eligible for BTEA? And also you have to be entering first year of a course. I’m currently getting a susi grant and paying rent in shared accommodation but I’ve no bills in my name and the landlord takes cash so I’m not sure if I’d even be able apply for rent allowance, I’m currently working part time while in college to try get by, is it possible to do with a baby aswel? Or what financial help is there for someone in my situation? Seems like there is none really 😔 Any help would be great thanks.
