    would weanlings be able to eat fodder beet without chopping it up?

    Yes no bother to them as its soft enough for them. All depends on how you plan to feed it to them. Have found that they will pull it onto slats if you leave the leaves on them.

    Have been strip grazing it for cows for years.

    Uncle has cows, yearlings and stores strip grazing his.

    You need to balance out the diet with with plenty of roughage but great feeding in it. Do you know the type of beet?

    I don't know but would be feeding it in a passage way in a shed

    Dunno bout rats but badgers are mad for it so keep doors closed and if getting tipped try and keep it away from em
