    Hi guys,

Just wondering has anyone any experience of shims? I really like the new cannondale carbon save seatpost but it's only available in 25.4mm diameter. My carbon bike is 27.2mm.

Any potential problems using an alloy shim to resolve the diameter difference aside from the increased likelihood of seizure?

    Grateful for any insight.

I've used a polycarbonate (I thnk.....certainly not alloy) shim on a Colnago without any issue whatsoever. I wouldnt hesitate to do so if the need arose.
