Mortgage approval with a temporary work contract?

My current job is permanent and pensionable (have this job for the past 3.5 years). When exploring new job opportunities, if I were to move to a temporary contract with similar salary, would this have an impact on my mortgage application approval? I previously obtained mortgage approval which has lapsed as I did not purchase within the timeframe. I continue to rent and save regularly and hope to secure a mortgage for a self-build this year or next year.

Hi lorraineor, thanks for getting in touch.

There are a number of different factors taken into consideration, we've outlined some of these here

If you'd like to PM me your details I'll arrange for one of our mortgage specialists to give you a call to discuss.

    Thanks, Nicola
