Thinking of going as a couple to Bremen for 3-4 nights as Ryanair flights good price for us during a few days off in May.

Anyone get any experience of being there.

I was there on business last year and was impressed from the back of a taxi and always promised to come back. But worried that i might be looking at same with rose tinted glasses

It's primarily an industrial city, there are a few museums and things to see, but it wouldnt be my (or many others) idea of a couples destination.

Hamburg is about 1h30m by train from Bremen and a more interesting destination for a city break. Probably better to fly direct to Hamburg though, unless you are able to get a dirt-cheap fare for Bremen rather than HAM.

Haven't been to Bremen yet, I second recommendation for Hamburg though.
Was there for a week-end, plenty of things to do for all kinds of interests (museums, harbour, shopping, food, you name it)

What about Munich... Ryanair goes direct to the main airport. I can get a return fare foe Tue to Fri for €80. Would Munich be nice??

Was just in Munich (couples trip) before Christmas and really enjoyed it. We spent a lot of time going around all the different Christmas markets but there would still be plenty to see and do outside of the season.

loads to do in Munich, and come may youre starting into the season of various summer events and street festivals which you should hopefully have nice weather to get out and enjoy.

The tourist office has an event search which you can use for your planned dates
