    Hi,

My Sky broadband stopped working the other day out of the blue. After a forty minute phone call with Sky I was basically told it could take days or weeks! for a service engineer to call out. I renewed a twelve month contract last September, so what I’d like to know is have they now broken this contract by not providing me with a service I’ve paid for?

What do the terms and conditions say on, how much time they have to fix a fault.

They would only have broken the contract, if you have been given a SLA (Service Level Agreement) .. so a maximum time, in which they have to dispatch an engineer. And if they then exceed that, that's the point, where you can fight the contract.

Looks like they have 10 days to send out an engineer. Thanks.

Always read the small print before signing the contract :)

That's probably even 10 work days, so 2 weeks. Once they exceed that, they'd be in breach of the contract and you could leave.

All res packages from the big players run 10wking days. They're based on OE offerings.

The next rung on the ladder is 8hrs, and 4hrs, both at greater than 200% cost so no home user will ever elect to use them.
