    Hi

Am looking at a Moving to a Kodiaq and am happy to look at PCP or HP on same. But paying over €4500 in interest for 3 years (5.9%) just doesn't sit well with me at moment.

Wife is keen on an SUV if we trading up and just wondering what rate people have seen in SUV interest rates out there.

Might move to a Superb at 0% instead if I can't get over the Kodiaq charge....

Seat offer 2.9% on the Ateca - http://www.seat.ie/offers/car-offers-181/ateca-offer.html

    Volkswagen 1.9% on the Tiguan - https://www.volkswagen.ie/en/offers-and-finance/offers/181-offers.html

Skoda Superb combi is a great car and well worth a look.

You can reduce the interest paid if you increase the deposit. Makes a lot of sense if your keeping the car. Not easily done though.

Ateca is awesome car and shares a lot with kodiaq. Superb is great but a lot more than the Octavia price wise to get a little more luxury wise.

Ford are doing 0% finance on the Kuga but it won't have the room of the Kodiaq.

Nice looking but a very mediocre SUV compared to others on offer. Desperately needs a major revision and is not great value for money imo. Not worth it even at zero interest.

Edit: but buy one if you like it, still an ok car.

Saw an ateca this am. I made the 'oooooo' noise. They just look wonderful. And they use tiguan bits.

I take it you are talking about the Sportage. They are better than mediocre. The are very comfortable over bad roads the suspension does a great job of smoothing out the bumps and are good to drive. They are very well specced. There is electric and heated seats on them as well as reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and lots of other kit. They are due a revamp this year do so if buying one look for a good deal. Hopefully the revamp makes the front nicer looking its got a love it or loath it look to it. It's also in the top 5 selling cars this year so far.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Kuga. The quote was list when I went back to edit.

I drove home from the UK with a friend last summer who bought a Kuga and imo it's a decent car compared to similar SUVs. Admittedly it was a 2.0 Titanium X so it had plenty of toys but the ones we get here are fairly basic and the ST Line price is meaty enough for what it is. There seems to be a hefty premium for the 2.0 over the 1.5 here too.

The Kuga is nice too and being a Ford is also very nice to drive but yes it is getting on a bit. Great deals on them do. Replacement due in the next year or two do I would say.

What are you driving at the moment?

Kodiaq will go to a lower PCP and 0% eventually, as the demand is very high at the moment...How long can you wait though? It maybe next January or even the following again?

What about the Karoq at 3.9%. still very good sized SUV.

I would also take a look at the 3008, maybe not the best track record but lovely interior - 4.9% though

Got a 12 Octavia with 200k on a Diesel engine.

Told by local Skoda dealer that if ordered now in January... it be August by time Car delivered. So demand is high at moment. Karol/ Kuga are options but was hoping to get something a bit beefier! Having has an Octavia.... a bit of luxury of the Superb would be welcome especially going automatic. Being in my latter years.... I looking for comfort instead of speed these days!

Well, If it is comfort your looking for I would at least take a drive in the 3008/5008.
(The overall Finish quality and Reliability some will question, but there is no longer shuch a big difference as there used to be)

Also the Opel Grandland X has the option of very "advance" seat upgrades for comfort and back issues (If you believe the sales pitch).

Its worth taking some time to visit the garages and look at all cars.

I started 2 years ago looking for and SUV's and looked at lots including, SX4 - S-Cross, Vitara. Outlander. ASX, HRV, CRV, Sportage, Quashqai, X-Trail, Tucson, Kuga, 5008(old) , Cx3,

    Short list was, HRV, Tucson

I took the HRV for a 3 day trial and was almost ready to purchase, but they had difficulty getting the color (Mexico production and limited shipments to Ireland)

At the last minute my brother suggested taking a look at the Octavia, and I immediately loved the car and took it for a trail and went with the estate version, even though it was not even on my radar throughout.

I think it’s 0% on HP with Kia.

I’m looking myself but would be interested in low finance with scrappage as the Sharan is really for the grave.....

Need something to fit 3 baby seats which probably excludes the X-Trail/Qashqui

Kia have 0% HP on Sportage and Niro (if you fancied the hybrid option) think it's 3.9% on PCP

Here's what I was told by a Ford dealer a couple of days ago for the kuga

Figures on a 0% Ford Credit PCP deal as follows

    Ford Kuga Titanium+ 1.5TD

    36 monthly payments of 383e
    Deposit 3,100
    Final Payment 13,634

That's actually quite a good deal. 30.5k for the car then total. Gmfv is 45pc of car cost which may be a little low. In 3 years rivals and any new upgrade may erode that. Still, there's that dogged ford fan base to rely on paying over the odds. You have to admire them for that.
