So I've got myself a pair of drumsticks and practise pad and want to learn to play. Which exercises should I start with?

    Tks

Hey there are some great channels on YouTube for beginners. Drumeo is one of them. Here is a link to a video for beginners on a pad. https://youtu.be/FWWsLRfsodI

You'll be most successful with practice if you sit down on day 1 and decide what your ultimate goal is. Is it to be in a band? Is it to write your own music? Maybe you are looking to develop your musical intelligence?

Drumming contains a universe of possibilities. If you know what you want to achieve you can tailor your practice efforts accordingly.

Drumeo was mentioned already but it's important not to fall into the YouTube trap where you try to learn to play isolated licks, chops and fills. If you want to use drumeo maybe invest in the successful drumming programme. It takes the approach of offering a foundation programme that covers all the basics and will have you playing well if followed faithfully.
