    Folks

I am looking to acquire one of the above. Well actually Mrs Seafields is on my behalf for a special occasion (after a few hints :D)

Firstly, after a lot of browsing on this forum I think I am on safe ground acquiring a seiko automatic? This model? Any advice appreciated.

Secondly, where abouts online would be the best place to purchase from? From browsing the forum, I see people mentioned before longisland watches and seiko japan but I am assuming customs, VAT, Duty, Fees, would negate any saving and shipping times might be significant? We have to order this weekend to have it here on time.

    Any words of advice appreciated!

I'd go for an EU seller SF. No extra charges and usually fast delivery. I wouldn't know which seller I'm afraid, but no doubt others do.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Think he said he got it from creation watches, was lucky to get away with duty.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

In terms of negotiation, would 10% less be reasonable or how would it generally work out on chrono24? I will be my first time using that site if I can't see cheaper elsewhere...which I haven't so far.

Hit the suggest a price. Sure it’s a yes or no answer. Nothing to lose SeaField. I’d say though €42 off might be a stretch but it’s worth a shot.

Cheers folks. I suggested a 5% discount afterwards so will see what the dealer says but looks like I will pull the trigger on that one eitherway as it is the cheapest I have seen from an EU seller after a few evenings browsing.

I once wandered into the shaving forum on boards and my bathroom is now full of various brushes and razors. I have now wandered into the watches and timepiece forum.....I will be divorced if it happens again :pac:

It's a slippery slope, wandered in here 3 years ago asking for advice about a Seiko diver, I'm still married. But I've 12 watches in 2 watch boxes now. Buy her a nice quartz watch:cool: Hint; grow a beard:D

    Ditto.

Fecking brother in law got me to negotiate an Ocean Omega in Weirs when $ was great vs euro. It was cheaper for him to buy it here than US....I’ve 3 watches now...

    Omega Deville
    Askania Typoon
    Seiko blue Presage

    When will it stop!!!

Here I was thinking Seiko Presage cost thousands and never looked into them. I was looking for a nice dress watch last year and I ended up buy a Rotary Skeleton which I think is a bit garish now. Might be in the market for another dress watch.

This Seiko Presage Automatik with Moonphase is a peach.

Jesus ain't this is the truth. I wandered in here looking for advice on a Tag and I now own 7 watches. I still never bought the Tag I was interested in :D

So, one for every day of the week, now you just need one for special occasions and you're sorted!

Can't buy another one. My watch box only holds 6 plus the one I wear. If I get another one I'll have to buy another watch box and then fill it.

    Where will it end

Thanks for the advice folks. The seller accepted my request for 5% off so pulled the trigger last night. Like a child waiting for Christmas for the next couple of weeks!

Let me know how long it takes from pulling the trigger to receiving the watch. My next purchase will be from Chrono

I ordered on the 22nd. Trusted checkout thingy on chrono received the funds by EFT on 24th, shipped the same day and received it on the 31st. Delighted with it to be honest. :)

If you're interested in a nice dress watch might I suggest a Beijing Beihai?
