    Hi
I need to buy a new phone cos I've no storage space left , I can't get email or WhatsApp now cos when they ask me to update to the new version it won't download .

I'm with Tesco mobile prepay so these are the choices, I want to spend about 150 max and i'm told I need min 16 GB

    http://www.tescomobile.ie/prepay-phones.aspx

would welcome any advice on which one to buy
    thanks

What phone do you currently have?
Does it take a memory card?

You could always get a sim free phone rather than being stuck to Tesco's options.
If you post more on what you want from the phone you will get some feedback from others.

    thanks

    i hadn't thought of a sim free
that means I could change provider anytime?

    Tesco recommended the following phones

HTC Desire 650 -16GB capacity Up to 2TB Expandable Memory - Prepay from €139.99

Alcatel A3 XL -16GB Internal, Up to 32GB External Memory - Prepay from €149.99

    Motorola Moto C Plus - 16GB Internal Memory - Prepay from €119.99

the problem is i'm not a bit techie so I don't know what TBs etc are and how much memory I'd need.

I use my phone for basic texts/ calls / photos/ whatsapp and facebook
but everytime it asks me to update the apps it says I've no space
so I'd welcome advice on how much memory I'd need...
would 16GB be enough for me?
    what's expandable/external memory?

    TIA

You can get a microsd card(up to 32Gb) for that phone according to the specs:

That's what expandable memory means. No point in buying a new phone if that's the only problem you have with it. Just buy the microsd card.

    thanks
a friend tried adding extra memory but it didn't work
also i'd dropped the phone so there's a big crack across it which makes it hard to swipe sometimes so I think I prob need to buy a new phone.

Tesco suggested the Huawei Y6 2017
    http://www.tescomobile.ie/phone-details/366/Huawei-Y6-2017?prepay=1

it's €139.99 in Argos sim free
    http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10152&catalogId=14551&langId=111&searchTerms=huawei+Y6&authToken=

€109.99 with Tesco but locked into their deal for another 10 months.

Tesco rep said the Alcatel too big and the Motorola camera not great so I think they're ruled out

that leaves the HTC Desire for €139.99 (€169.99 sim free in Argos)
