    Hi

I was wondering if I have two or three enigma boxes in a house, can one act as the main PVr and can I access the recording or set recordings from another box in the house ?

With a bit of messing it is possible to setup each box as a network mount on the others so you could access each ones HDD. The easiest way to access recordings AND set timers etc etc is by using the WEBIF function on any device with a web browser. Simply insert the box network address (192.168.xxx.xxx) into your browser on a laptop or tablet or whatever. I don't think setting remote timers is easily done from another box but am open to correction on that.

Easier again is to enable the pvr as a dlna server. It should be an option in settings. This will make all the recorded media available to any device connected to the same network

I have 2 enigma2 receivers at home running OpenATV.
I have enabled Samba server on enigma2 receiver #1 (the receiver with a 1TB drive).
On enigma2 receiver #2, I have gone into Network setting, Browse Network and mounded the drive from the enigma2 receiver #1 (all can be done using the remote control). I have set all recordings from enigma2 receiver #2 to record to the network drive (i.e. the HDD on enigma2 receiver #1).

If I partly watch a recording on enigma2 receiver #1 resume on enigma2 receiver #2, the recording continues from where I finished on enigma2 receiver #1 (all the meta data associated with a recording is stored on the network drive)

Note: they are connected over wired ethernet. Connecting over Wifi is not good enough I have found.

Also, Samba server allows you to browse your network drive from Windows Explorer - very useful for copying recordings off your enigma2 receiver

Also worth mentioning is the "Fallback Tuner" option.
enigma2 receiver #1 can use 1 or more tuners on enigma2 receiver #2 and vice versa

So lets say I've used all the tuners on enigma2 receiver #1 because I'm using all of them for recordings. Then enigma2 receiver #1 will automatically use a tuners on enigma2 receiver #2 (you won't even know it's happening)

All of the above can be done for FREE and not a Q in sight :)

Should also have mentioned that all recordings made by receiver #2 goes to the hard drive of receiver #1
