Hi guys, the mods were just discussing a wee change in how we discuss wellies. Seeing as we have a new wellie thread every 6 months or so basically discussing the same question of what wellie you use or found to be good, we were thinking of making one wellie superthread where all discussions can take place and any new threads can be merged into.

Any thoughts or advise on this, good or bad, appreciated:)

So just one thread, but "rebooted" every so often?

You could have it sponsored by Dunlop.;)

I suppose everyone knows about the search function on boards for all the various threads?
Even Google throws up the various threads.

Making a sticky somewhere probably will save the sanity of everyone.

We have a limit of 5 stickys and I don't think it will be used often enough to justify a sticky, tbh. And there is a feedback thread in AH atm where some think too many stickys are a problem for some users.

Like I say, just looking for a link today for the last wellie thread and it seems to be a recurring theme so just thought a main thread for wellies might bring together all the likes and dislikes and prices of wellies in one place.

Yeah, that's what we were thinking. Just merge any new thread into the main thread with all replies and keep it all in one place.

What about putting it in one of the subforums here?
It might even get them a bit more traffic.
Maybe it could even be included in the subforum banner.
Or just put it in the Health and safety subforum.
    Yes we have one here.
As I say traffic and all that.
    Bees and wellies?
    Sheep and wellies?
    Trees and wellies?
    ;)

Some of them have threads from 10 months ago still on their main page.

The main forum gets most of the traffic, tbh, and is where most of the general Ag questions are asked.

There may be discussions on the subforums as well at some stage in the future if it's deemed necessary but I don't think allocating it a subforum status would be necessary either?

Like I say, it was just an idea and I thought I would see if posters here thought it was justified, just leave it the way it is or if some other solution might suit?

It makes absolutely no odds to me but if you had it included in the banner of one of the existing subforums anyone clicking here would see it immediately.
It's only one thread at the end of the day and it would save the mods the job of constantly moving new threads into a superthread when the superthread goes back a few pages.
Why use a sprong when you can use a loader or even get the cows to self feed?

    Good luck whatever yous do.:D

Can we have a sticky for all complaints about purfoot wellies. 2nd pair in a year went today. Cracks around the steel toe. Then a damp sock. They don't like concrete or bein in wet all day.

How about a ban for anyone who opens a wellie thread ðŸ˜

Never had a problem with leaks just stones getting stuck in the grips on the bottom. Wear them most days every day

Yeah, that's what we were thinking. Just merge any new thread into the main thread with all replies and keep it all in one place.

Yeah, best idea. Keep in main forum.
