Honeymoon in September/October - Suggestions?

Any suggestions for a honeymoon at the end of September and into October?
    We're thinking around 2 weeks.

A few thoughts we had so far...

Multi-destination trip with a week in the sun then a week in New York. Really like the thought of New York (neither of us have been) but still looking for a sun destination to tie in that wouldn't be too wet at that time of year. Jamaica was looking good until we saw it was the wettest month.

2 weeks in south of Europe. We considered Sorrento and the Amalfi coast but bit concerned that it might be a bit quiet around there - we watched a travel show that showed mostly retired couples.

We're not keen on a big multi-storey apartment hotel with a pool at the front. Someone here might know some nice sea-side lodges or even some Air BnB gems.

    Thanks for any tips!

I have a few friends who did New York for few days and then went to Mexico for the Sun.

I did the Maldives and Dubai, but had travelled a lot in my 20's with wife so had been a lot of places before.

South east Asia would be getting warm again around Sept/Oct

Was in south Africa which is amazing, can do safari, bit of sightseeing and then chill as well.

We had to limit our honeymoon to a maximum of 12 nights.
Ended up doing 6 nights on La Digue island in the Seychelles, followed by 6 nights in South Africa (stayed in Franschoek, Stellenbosch & Camps Bay near Cape Town).
It was brilliant. I would highly recommend both places.
The first week here http://www.orangeraie.sc was relaxing while South Africa can be as relaxing or as hectic as you want it to be.
Ideally you would have a few extra days in South Africa to get a safari in in another area of the country.

Cancun would give you your week or so in the sun and a natural stop off on the way back could be NY and the weather at that time of the year is lovely! The sticky heat of the summer is gone and if you have never been to the big apple before then its a massive bucket list destination! So much to do. Although a hectic week in NY after a relaxing week in the sun might be the wrong way around :P

I was chatting to someone who did this and they did find NY a bit much, coming from a relaxing beach!

We done Mauritius and Dubai end of September/start October.

I wanted to do a Caribbean type thing but I think when I researched it, it was hurricane season over that side of the world at that time if year..

It was deliberately posted in Travel, it's a travel question. I'd assume most people that have been married and had their honeymoon don't hang around this forum long after...

New England in late September/early October is spectacular.
