Hi, does anyone know anything about Ryanair suddenly charging a booking fee? Have booked 2 flights this week, first one had a booking fee of €1, second was €2.40 (higher total flight cost). I made the booking using a visa debit card was under the impression that this method of payment didn't incur any charges.

Just a guess, but a ban on charging excessive fees for processing credit cards came in this week in the UK.
To compensate for the revenue they're losing from the credit card fees, they may have implemented a higher "booking fee" across the board for all payment methods.

Out of interest, I've just done a dummy booking for a flight I'll take later in the year and got as far as the payment screen with no mention of any kind of booking fee. Are you sure you didn't tick the SMS box or something like that?

I have booked Ryanair flights in the last couple of weeks for a family of four and not only was there no booking fee, I'm pretty sure there was no credit card fee either
