    Hi folks,

I'm wondering if anyone has had this done and if so, how did you find it? I'm looking into doing it

Haven’t had it done but have used it for research purposes. It would need to be organised by a gastroenterologist.

No, it had the camera done up and down last month, stupid sedation did not work, apart from a wee bit of gagging, it was fine. It was interesting to watch me insides. My gastro had it done the month previously and she said she felt violated, she does it for a living.
The worst part I think is waiting if there is a delay and drinking that clean prep, its like wall paper paste, would it kill them to add some feckin flavour to it ( yes i added orange but it was still vile.

I had it done about 8 years ago. I also had the other two scopes prior to that. Capsule endoscopy is great because although there is fasting there is no Klean-Prep, nothing invasive, and you can go home in the meantime there is no cost to the hospital or resources like a bed in the day ward or theatre. Very easy and straightforward although I have to say I think it's moreso used alongside scopes rather than by itself as it's used for the small intestine.
