Would a car eat juice much quicker the further over a service you’ve gone in the car, or could there/is there be other reasons.

Yes could be burning fuel poorly as a result of bad spark plugs or blocked air filter.

Are you getting any warning lights on the dash, is the car burning oil?

The brakes sticking is one of the main reasons for increased fuel consumption. Lack of servicing can also cause it but the car would need to be really neglected for it to happen due to lack of servicing.
