Kitchen island extraction

Does anybody have a downdraft extractor installed working in recirculation mode? From what I’ve read online it’s less than ideal but I haven’t many options due to the hob being on the island in an airtight house with mhrv.
I’ve narrowed it down to the luxair downdraft which seems to be the most powerful and rises up 500mm so a good bit higher than elica,Siemens etc. Does anyone have this installed or any opinions?

Bumping this as I'm thinking of the same route.
Is a generous open plan space more forgiving when having a recirculating downdraft extractor? Or less so?
Any tips or first hand accounts would be a great help!
