Just looking for feedback and peoples experience on this.

BMW are seemingly giving a 9% discount of their cars. But what are peoples experiences on top of this?

I guess in my head I had that if buying a new car you should always be able to negotiate up to 10% of the Price - obviously depending on cash or trade in etc.

Anyone get a discount above the 9% advertised or is this wishful thinking?

I was offered 2k on top of the 9% off new X3.
The 9% doesn't apply to delivery charges, prep charge or service pack.

You will be hard pushed to get a 10% discount off a new Bmw in my experience. They just don’t give it in ireland.
I spoke to a dealer before Christmas and he told me Bmw ireland have subsidized the 9% sterling event but that the dealers have had to contribute to it by reducing their margin too.
I imagine some discount on top of the 9% should be available though for a straight deal.

It’s a fairly piss poor attempt at BMW Ireland to try and deter people from importing. Combine their uncompetitive APR rates with poor trade in allowances and the 9% is still being absorbed by you the customer, not BMW.

Take any BMW marketing with a pinch of salt. If they give with one hand they take away with the other. I really like the cars I've driven them since 2004 but the dealers aren't overly generous. I guess the cars sell themselves in many cases.

That’s exactly where I am the 9% is a gimmick and it makes no sense to buy a new BMW here as opposed to importing a nearly new one!!

It's marketing bull****. If you have a car to trade in then you can be sure they will recoup that 9% and more, in the piss poor trade-in value they give you. If your going down the PCP route then expect to be shafted with a high interest rate and unrealistic GMV that leaves you well worse off than a 9% discount.

this, bmw are the biggest con artists going! how does a 30% discount sound when you import one thats over 6 months with whatever low mileage it is from the uk?

you would be off your rocker to buy new from bmw here...
