Bottled Gas And Open Fire, Stove Advice Needed.

Bottled gas and open fire is very expensive to run, the open fire is about 20-25% efficient. Modern gas stoves are 80-85% efficient. Looking for an insert stove.

This would be a space heater only, heating the sitting room , the wonderful Efel Oil stove heats the Kitchen and dining area and also the hall. Don't need the bedrooms heated when not in there, the heating comes on for a few hours in the morning and evening.

Since we went through a full tank in about 2 months I was looking for another option, Solid fuels are high maintenance and not that cheap and they're a filthy mess. I'd still have to use the oil stove for the Kitchen area.

I like the idea of wood stoves but I fear the cost would be high and storing it to keep it dry would be an issue. Wood pellets would be a lot easier but again, the cost and the stoves ? anyone got much experience on them.

I know I've asked here before but really need to sort it out soon.

I work shift so want cheap and efficient heat for when I'm off.

I was thinking of plumbing it into the rads but don't think I'd bother.

I'm quiet keen on the Gas insert stoves. The Logic HE range in the link below, what do people think of these ? claimed 89% efficiency.
