My car blew its head gasket and its not worth the expense to fix. I wanna go have a peek at this wee Hyundai. It seems cheap for a dealer car. Could it be abit of a crapper for this price do you think?

whats cheap about it , its eleven years old

I seen dealers selling them for alot more. I called him and he said he has no service history for the car and he has no idea when the timing belt was last changed.

I'm abit off put by the silly fake German plates and vertical disc holder. Its an indication of who has been driving it before. Mostly young lads do that sort of nonsense.

If you have doubts and the dealer has so little information on its service history then leave it there. Plenty of better cars out there for similar money. Even the bangernomics thread is seeing quality cars with decent history for similar money.

There are enough cars about to buy without buying some lucky dip with no service history. And as you say it has some of the paraphernalia of the boy racer.

Lots of options in your price range.

A dealer in Ashbourne has a coupe for the same money with service history.

That blue one caught my eye also, Not much of an NCT on her though. Worth looking at it?

If you are serious about buying it get the dealer to put a fresh NCT on it.

Would they do that with 4 more month to run on the test?

The motor tax website says it was transferred to an individual on the 30th December 2017... If he is a dealer shouldn't it say transferred to a dealer?

They may well do to get the sale. €55 to test and car is gone.

This is standard from dealers when they are selling cars in that price range. They most likely just took it as a trade-in where they made a good profit on the car it was traded in against. You will also not have much in the way of comeback on cars from dealers in that price range. Better off buying privately from an owner who has had the car a few years and knows a bit about it.
