So the thread in the other forum wasn't for talkabout traffic, speed issues etc...

So I thought we could discuss them here, if there's any demand for it.

Twas to be a thread discussing the commute during the roadworks as the existing thread on the other forum didn't allow for such chat.

If it doesn't take off here then no worries.

****ing traffic nazis will be popping fish in a barrel later at night when the workers have ****ed off home. It's an officialy limit but it's perfectly safe to do the normal...

but the swine will pop the easy money rather than actually work where speeding is actually dangerous.

Whats happening with it ? There stretching the 3 lanes to/from exit 10 now ? Two years seems a long time if that the case.

Was on it on Wednesday thought that 80km/h would be more appropriate opposed to the current 60km/h.

Using the M7 almost every day, I am amazed that there isn't a ban on HGV's & busses using the outside lane. I was behind a truck last Friday going north, on the outside lane, and the gap between the outside wheel and a traffic cone is minimal. One tyre clipping a cone and who knows where that cone will end up.

As for the coaches? Well, it seems speed limits doesn't apply to them.

I am all for the speed restrictions to be honest, everyone is entitled to be able to go home safe from work every day. For some that workplace is the side of the motorway and requires the travelling public to help out.

Otherwise stuff like this happens: http://www.constructionenquirer.com/2015/07/28/balfour-beatty-worker-killed-on-m3

Nobody wants to suddenly realise that 60% of the human body is made of water due to an impact...

Yeah to be fair there is a significant reduction in lane size right now. And for the poster in post 4, I believe they are working at night so all the more reason for a limit to be in place.

Its not just a widening. There is a new junction (J9A) being added, a complete redesign of J10 and a number of new bridges to be built. If recent motorway completions are anything to go by, they will set out 2 years and deliver in 18-20months (hopefully)
