Fake online bike shops

Just thought Id throw this up in case anyone was considering buying from this site:

    http://www.krakencom.net/

I was browsing for a particular bike thats quite hard to find online and stumbled across this shop selling the bike at 30% off. Looks like a legit German online shop, they respond to emails and seem to have VAT numbers, contact details etc.

Their prices seemed to be excluding tax, and I got a bit suspicious when I tried to make an account to see what final prices would be like and they were requesting a photo ID scan and proof of address.

I emailed them instead and got a reply, and then a few days later noticed that their prices had all changed from EXcluding VAT to INcluding VAT.

So, did a bit more digging and found the following:

    http://www.onlinewarnungen.de/warnungsticker/atkraken-com-onlineshop-unter-fakeshop-verdacht-ihre-erfahrungen/

    https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/krakencom.net

Basically they are hosted in the US, the address is false, the Tax cert is false and they never answer the phone. There's also a ton of people claiming that the site is a scam and the bikes never arrive once you order and pay.

    Caveat Emptor!

There was a huge problem with sites purporting to be bike sellers in Medan, Indonesia. They had any bike you wanted, often top of the line stuff, and all at discounted prices .If you fell for the offer, you would never see a bike, or your money!

After you 'register' you have to send them a copy of your passport and a utility bill.

Could be worth compiling a list of fake shops into a thread?
