Lads just looking to hear from anyone who's played the course in the last couple of years - up in March and it's an option to play as it's close to where we are staying(5mins drive) - I'd rather play Portsalon but this is 50mins going by Google maps and I suspect I'll get pushed to play the closer of the two.

Lovely little course with a great set of par threes. Not as good as Portsalon or Rosapenna, which is probably closer, but enjoyable none the less. There are a few ordinary holes especially 11 and 12 but if the wind blows as it surely will in March you will probably use every club in the bag.

It will be cheaper than rosapenna or portsalon too. Its not as long as either. Nice course though.

Cheers for that - I’ve played both the Rosapenna courses before so was hoping to play something new

I go to Donegal most years and play all three of these courses. You simply cannot go home without playing Porlsalon. Wonderful links. Their second hole is deemed one of the best golf holes in Ireland in one of these surveys that come along each year. But there are many other fine holes also on this course. By all means play Dunfanaghy - it also has much charm. If you are looking for another choice before you go home - please try Cruit (pronounced Crutch) Island. Its not really an island and is near Annagry/Dungloe , is only 9 holes but you go round twice. You wont regret it !

Think it's the 7th in Dunfanaghy, par 3, don't think I've ever taken less than a driver and never reached it :) Always into a gale the times I've played it.

It's an enjoyable course to play, not too punishing but you'll need to hit plenty of great shots to have a score there. If it was around Dublin or Kerry, the green fees would be triple the Donegal rate.

    And the 7th is downhill
