    Hi All

I been taking beginner lessons for about a year now and still haven't managed to do the breathing on the front crawl.
When I started I was unable to swim at all, but I feel for the last 3/4 months I been making zero progress on the front crawl.
On my 3rd stroke I turn my head but for some stupid reason I am keeping my mouth closed and when I put my head back in the water one stroke later I am out of air and have to stop.
I am breathing out in the water as have check this.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips or techniques I can use to try get there, as I feel I am never going to learn this.

    Thanks

Try holding onto end of pool or a float and just turn your head to breathe. Forget about strokes til you can breathe like this

    just breathe every 2 stroked
I struggled breathing on the 3rd stroke ,made no progress like yourself
breathe every 2nd stroke now & can do 40/50 lengths no problem
    G'luck

Make sure you are going really slowly and not forgetting to breath out underwater. I spent a long long time practicing the breathing stationary at one end of the pool. I also tried the Total immersion style of swimming and rolled to the side to breath just getting used to it in a relaxed way not worried about stroke at that stage. Slowly slowly.
