Guitarist looking to start Rock/Metal Band in South Dublin

Hi all,

I'm a 31 year old guitarist, living in the Dundrum area in Dublin. I've been playing for over 15 years. I'm looking to put together a rock/metal band to collaborate on some original music. I'm not aiming for anything too serious at first; just a bit of fun. I'd hope to maybe get together and play once a week and see where things go from there.

My influences include Alice in Chains, Devin Townsend, Soundgarden, Faith No More, Screaming Trees, Silverchair, Divine Comedy, David Bowie, Queens of the Stone Age, Ghost, Tool, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and others.

Would love to hear from any interested musicians of a similar age. If you can sing too, even better. I'm happy to sing myself, but I'm a big proponent of vocal harmonies so would prefer if the vocal duties were shared.

Hi! i'm giovanni, i'm 23 years old, i play drums since i was 8, grown up in a musical family, i'm from italy, i will be in ireland 'til the end of june.
i'm working as an au pair in clane, at the firmount house, i've been here for a week, and i need to find someone for playing some music, 'cause i can't stop playing . it's not a problem for me to reach dublin once a week. the main problem is that i have no gear.

here are some off my influences and experience if you are interested

i studied drums for many years, with different teachers, listened to a lot of different music, i had different bands through the years, and played gigs with my dad. and gave some drum essons occasionally. i played with a thrash metal band called bothers for 4 years, we recorded an album, and played few gigs in east europe (hungary serbia chzech republic slovakia and germany) then i changed style, now i'm playing with a stoner band called reefer masters, we recorded a demo before i left italy (in wich i sang some backing vocals) it will be ready soon, the guys are mixing it.

here are some bands that i like:

black sabbath, the melvins, alice in chains, hendrix, pink floyd, the beatles, napalm death, led zeppelin, faith no more, nirvana, blue oyster cult, and tons of other different bands/music

No recordings here unfortunately. It's not something I've ever really practiced at. I can always record a clip on my phone to prove I can play, but I don't have any songs recorded to a decent standard.

I have a handful of songs, half songs and riffs that I wouldn't mind using, but equally I'd be happy to start from scratch or slot into an existing set up, provided I liked the sound.

Hi im from balbriggan , 29 year old drummer , played plenty of original rock gigs over the oast 10 years! Love all the bands you mentioned and some slightly heavier stuff life metallica etc , and newer bands like five finger death punch disturbed etc etc wanting to get back into the gigging scene but start out as something fun and original as we all have our lives to manage aswel
