Been a lot of failures recently, so best to start a thread to record these separately.
03/01 9.30am Connolly to Belfast Enterprise failed. Suburban replacement, limited catering, no 1st plus.
12.35 Belfast to Connolly & 15.20 Dublin to Belfast Enterprise failed. Suburban replacement, limited catering, no 1st plus.
15.20 Belfast to Connolly 11 mins late
04/01 06.45 Belfast to Dublin and I assume return 9.30 Dublin to Belfast Enterprise failed. Suburban replacement, limited catering, no 1st plus.
    05/01 - 7.35am Connolly to Belfast 25 mins late
04/05/06/01 Subsidence at Newry, lots of delays (in around 15-25 mins each train), bus transfers,
07/01 - undefined issues, causing delays. 12pm Belfast to Dublin 10 mins delayed, 11.05 Belfast to Dublin undefined delays.
    08/01 - Speed restrictions, 15 min delays.
    11/01
14.05 Belfast to Connolly mech failure at Newry 30 mins delay minimum.
16.50 failed in advance. IE had replaced with 4 carriage commuter, no catering, no 1st class. In was available on time, but departed 40 mins late. Lot of complaints re lack of information to passengers. Reason for delay was they had no driver for replacement commuter train. Also delayed all northbound Commuter trains and DARTS.

Delays are not failures in the context of your thread plus you can't use the subsidence as a failure for the enterprise.
There are a shocking amount of failures all the same.

Make's me wonder if the legacy of cutbacks over the year's is starting to catch up.

They have only spend millions on a full refurb. 201 usage has also increased in the last 12-18 months so they are under some pressure. They should have one possibly two more back by end of the year. It by in large comes down to routine serving which needs to be increased in particularly for DD coaches.

you need to distinguish between the prime failure and consequential substitutions

also you need to distinguish between a loco failure - loco maintenance is an IE responsibility

and carriage failure carriage maintenance is an NIR responsibility

You missed the break fault on the second which led to the problem on the third.

    13/01
07.35am Connolly to Belfast 1 hour delayed, changed to 8 carriage from Drogheda
10.35 Belfast to Connolly 8 carriage commuter (to be fair an improvement on the 4 carriages!)

    16/01
Suggestion that one of the Enterprise sets is 1 carriage short presently leading to overcrowding at peak tim - TBC.
13.20 Connolly to Belfast 30 mins delayed due to mechanical issue at Clongriffin
16.05 Belfast to Connolly delayed 22 mins due to mechanical issue at Drogheda
7pm Connolly to Belfast 30 mins delayed due to previous issues (may have made up some time, it is got out ahead of 7.20 commuter to Drogheda)
