Android - Dual sim - scheduling

I moved from apple to a one plus 5t and so far I am liking it, looking now to use the 2nd sim for work to save me carrying about 2 phones but I would like to be able to schedule the 2nd sim on and off so at 8am it comes on and at 6pm it turns off - Has one ever done this ?

Tasker can do this, but you'll probably need to be rooted.
