On the plus side it's nct'd until March and only has 105k miles on it but the rest is a mess tbh. Over the back wheel the paintwork has a chunk taking out of it, although it has nice alloys. The exhaust is also cracked :/ motor gone in both windscreen wipers and a leak from the windscreen water holder. Also leaking in from sunroof through the lights under the sun visors. How much can I expect to get for scrappage or is there any chance of it being bought?

Wouldn't be worth fixing.if you know anyone with the same model they might buy it as a donor vehicle.maybe 100 Euro.you get about 70 for it in the scrap yard.if it's driving drive it in to scrap yard and tell them you want the wheels.they will probably lift it for you with forks.sell the alloys from home.get the cert for it if it's scrapped

I went onto Facebook ''marketplace'' and a group called ''cars for sale under 500 euro'' the other day with the misses 2004 Golf 1.4 with 140k miles, NCT out since April 2017 and lying up for about 4 months. Jump started it that day and cleaned it and threw a tenner petrol into it before putting it online. Within 2 hours it was gone for 400 euro ( Had over 20 messages for people to collect that night or the following day) . Maybe worth looking into that.

Yeah, people love Golfs, even older ones. 2003 was the change between Mk4 and Mk5.

If you're is a Mk4 I'd still try go get €400 ish for it, if it's Mk5 I'd say you could ask twice that.

The car sounds tatty but not critical.

Herselves was a MK5 and even though I was getting offers to hold it for 5/600 euro some of the people looked a little dodgey :D

Put on donedeal for a week or 2 for a few hundred. If no movement take the 70 quid from scrappy.
