Just looking at booking flights for 2 to the US and flights are coming in at 990. It says I can pay deposit now of 50% but it's only looking for 240. Half afraid to book it in case I'm doing something wrong
    Any advice?

    Hi there,

as far as I know from experience of booking flights with Aer Lingus that is to lock in your fare price for 24 hours, then its taken off the overall price...

That only costs €5 per leg ..

Price Lock lets you reserve your flight and fare for 24 hours for only €5.00 per person each way. Confirm your booking within 24 hours and we'll take the Price Lock fee off your total.

Sounds like a decent price but be sure to shop around and look at all options, depending on when you are flying there are some great deals going at the moment. Booked Shannon > JFK yesterday (for albeit for Sept) for 1k for 3 return. KLM operated by Delta.

That's a fare lock. Completely different.

Aer Lingus offer a 50% deposit plan on flights to North America.

I'm not sure why its only asking you to pay 240, do you have any extras added on? They might be separate to the deposit.

Here is the link for reference, for peace of mind it would be no harm contacting Aer Lingus to clarify:

Its 50% of the air fare you pay. Excludes taxes/charges etc that's why it's less than half the total price. I've recently booked flights using it
