Long in the tooth

I have a lower front tooth that is getting longer and longer due to the gum receding. I have been told I need a frenectomy and a gum graft. I'm looking for reassurance that a frenectomy is necessary and that the graft would require that first. Also that my lower lip won't sag as a result!
I am also looking for a periodontist of reputation.
Also for one that uses laser for the frenectomy (should I have one).
And lastly any advice on having the procedures done in Europe anywhere?

You'll have to phone individual periodontists' practices to find out which ones use laser.
Their qualifications & experience should be listed online, &/be known by their receptionist.
If you don't know who to contact, ring a sample size of 5 or more local general dentists& ask what periodontist they refer their patients to.

No practitioner wants a patient of theirs to have a sagging lip either. If it's deemed a risk (however minor in incidence), it'll be explained during the consultation appointment, & also detailed as part of the consent form you sign prior the procedure.

Like all medical/surgical procedures, if you travel abroad, allow time& money for healing, complications, followup & long-term review/monitoring. Also the language barrier, & variance in litigation& disciplinary procedures should any issues arise.

Dont get hung up on the laser, its only a tool, its the person holding it that matters. The best gum surgery I see is done with blades. The surgeries that promote their toys are sometimes not the ones best at using them.
