Advice on selling car

Need some advice, probably only sold 3 cars in my life, tend to keep them awhile, had this one for 9yrs

Getting new (welll, 2010 car) tomorrow and looking at selling my car

It's an 03 Focus, 1.4 petrol, has 6 months NCT, 3 months tax on it

Been using it every day to travel from meath to dublin for work so very reliable and does 42mpg (roughly), 2 brand new tyres on front, new cat 2yrs ago so has been sailing through emissions on nct, new clutch 2yrs ago, timing belt 4yrs ago

Only 2 minor issues, few months ago i tried my spare key in ignition and it wouldn't come out, apparently a fault with them, i just put a beanie hat over the key and use my main key to central lock, don't really wanna get it fixed to sell, also the passenger side window won't go down.

Was thinking of asking for 250 for it, would that be about right? Can't be arsed with all the time wasters on done deal as mate just sold his old car for 200quid and the amount of chancers (will you pay my bus fare to come and pick it up!!!!)

You should have no problem getting rid of it at €250

What mileage is on it and where are you located?

Now there's another minor issue i forgot to mention in OP, There's 175k on the clock but that's not accurate, the cluster failed 3yrs ago (you can check my old posts on here about a fix) so i bought a new one from scrappy, that put 40k on it, so technically the car has done approx 135k, and i'm in Trim

I'd wash it and take good pictures and stick it up on donedeal for 500. And you can effectively accept anything for it if you want. Pictures in a well lit car park from all angles are the way to go. The tax and test are a big plus for someone looking for a little run around.

You bought a cluster for a common car and couldn't find one with less rather than more mileage?

Yep, tried 4 or 5 different scrappies, believe it or not at the time that was the best I could find, was offered one that had 36k on the clock but that would have looked nuts!

Sure it's over 100k anyway, wasn't it supposed to blow up at that magic mark :rolleyes:

For the price bracket you're in I wouldn't worry about the mileage at all. I might not even mention the cluster change. It is what it is at that point!
