I'm selling a 3 series '07 E90 SE spec. It has 140,000 KM on the clock and is in decent nick with a few scratches which I might get a bit of work done on. I was thinking €4,500 to €5,000?

I presume that done deal is best place to sell?

Manual/auto, does it have leather? What NCT is left on it? Any service history, when was it last serviced? Explain "a few scratches", are we talking a few taps from car doors and shopping trolleys over the years or deep down to the metal collision points with walls?

    Petrol or diesel?

I think €4500 for an 11 year old petrol or diesel 3 Series would be very optimistic being honest. 2008 models with the cheap tax are now 10 years old and can be bought for similar money.

This petrol one has more mileage but is asking €3500:

    Or this diesel one:

If your car is in good shape I think between 3k and 3.5k is more realistic.

NCT is up in August. Service history is up to date although not from a main dealer. It was serviced by a guy who is regarded as an expert indie on BMW forums. It was last serviced just last month. A few scratches are just a few surface scratches - although one looks like a key job but everything else could be polished out. It has fabric seating.

€4500 still seems very dear, but the only way to prove it one way or another is to advertise it at the high price and see what happens.

    Petrol or diesel? Engine size?

You haven't a hope of getting the colour of it

    The petrols are oil burners.

I’ll be looking to sell a very similar car in the next few weeks- 318i Touring automatic. As Ronaneire states she’s an oil burner and has given me the odd problem from time to time- mainly oil leaks - which cost a fair penny to fix. Am upgrading to a 171 520d but looking to sell my own one privately or with help from my mechanic- a BMW specialist.
I’ve installed a new timing belt, alternator and head gaskets in the past year. NCT’d to Nov 2018.
Not expecting much in terms of value to be honest
Sorry for hijacking your thread but we are in the same boat!

Edit: not leather / 118,000 miles on the clock (190,000km)

€2500-3000 is where you would need to price it to sell.
Here's one to compare it to - a year old but lower mileage and in more attractive M Sport spec.
