Small sizes

Any suggestions on where you can buy smaller size clothes for women? Size 6 from pretty much everywhere is too big and very few places carry a 4.

I picked up size 4 jeans in RI at the weekend but they're in the Petite range so really short. That's fine for winter when I'm wearing boots, but I can't wear them with heels.

I know Topshop has size 4 but none of the stores stock it so it means ordering online which I hate. Any ideas?

Penneys maybe certainly worth a look. I know they have had size 6 skirts and dresses sometimes. I recently bought a size 6 Penneys faux leather pencil skirt but it was too small for me so I got a size 8 and its perfect fits like a glove. I bought these online do.

This is the site I bought it on and the skirt I bought.

I got a couple of dresses that are two small too.

Can be hit and miss sometimes buying online.

Miss Selfrige does a good smaller range but I think you'll need to expect to order some things in - I wear a petit leg length so I regularly have to order my size online, usually deliver to store and usually return it there too.

Penneys started doing a size 4 last year. I'm not sure if it's across the board or not but my local store (Limerick) definitely carry a lot of 4's.
Also I think H&M's smallest size is a 6, but their sizes tend to run small so a 6 from there might be a good fit too.

I find Penney’s 6 very big. Their size 4 is ok. I’ve a pair of trousers from Penney’s in UK4 but I’m a 6 everywhere else. Try Zara! Their XS range equates to a 6 and their sizing is on the smaller size! Next do a good range of stuff in size 6. I also find RÍ and Topshop 6 too big. Look at French and Italian brands as they are generally a smaller fit...Sisley, Morgan, Sandro, Maje etc

Thanks for all the suggestions! I didn't think of Sandro etc.. I'll definitely check them out.

It's so frustrating not being able to get clothes to fit properly. I hate ill fitting clothes, especially skinnies. They just look terrible. I know Oasis only recently started doing a 6 but their sizing is ridiculously generous so nothing in there fits me well.

Does anyone else find it a bit stressful trying to find clothes?

I used to find it very annoying but I did some sewing courses so I end up taking in a lot of stuff on my sewing machine myself. I’d really recommend doing a course and getting a good machine. I can take something in very quickly, in like ten mins..and then it’s a perfect fit. Saves me a fortune on tailors. Don’t forget ASOS by the way! They often do size 4..and always size 6. Ted Baker’s size 0 is also good. Gap size 00 trousers work for me too.
I’m small all over...I’m 5’2.5” in height so luckily I can fit into all the petite range stuff.
Also, I should add...the kids’ sections in shops are good too. Like age 11-12 or whatever fits. I find a lot of the kids’ wear is now very grown-up looking and replicas of adult wear. Esp H&M, Zara, River Island.

I get most of my clothes taken in by a tailor and get the legs let down
