Upstairs automatic heating valve not working

Our central heating is split into two zones, upstairs and downstairs. The upstairs automatic valve has stopped responding to the controller; the light comes on at the correct time but no water flows. I can make the heating come on upstairs by pushing the switch to manual.

I have a picture but can't upload, it's a yellow box, made by "EPH Controls", model V221 (A0801?).

My question is, is this self-repairable, or do I need to get a professional in? I'm reasonably handy but don't have a lot of plumbing experience.

If its the newer type EPH detach-Pro then the cable just plugs out on the existing one and you just swap it out with a replacement.
If its the older type then you will need to disconnect the existing wires and re-wire in the new one.

Knock off the power going to the valve.
Take a picture on your phone so you remember what cable goes where.
You will have 5 cores to wire.
Live, neutral, earth and you auxiliary connections grey and orange.

    Very easy to do.

You wont need to change the valve body as its only the motor that has failed.

That's fantastic, thank you. Sounds like I should have no problem with that. Appreciate you taking the time to answer!
