Reset button on water pump

I supply water to my house via a pressure vessel hooked up to a private well. Yesterday the water stopped, probably due to the frost.
I left it for the day to thaw and yesterday evening, tried pushing the reset button on the front of the control box beside the pump. This caused the pump to come on but it only stayed on for a few seconds before tripping the switch again. I left it for around an hour and tried again with the same result.
However, when I tried it again this morning, the switch won't stay in and the pump won't come on at all. Any ideas as to what the issue may be?

I had trouble with the exact same set up , well pump hasn't given me bother for years and I was stumped as to why I had to reset the control box reset button when capacitor and pressure switch checked out OK. Turns out I had a leak going to my house on an isolation valve that I had replaced several years earlier . I hope this helps somebody as I only discovered it by fluke .
