Form 12 and Health insurance relief question

My employer offers health insurance to their employees via Irish Life Health.

My payslip shows Salary and Irish Life at "Payment Details" (left side)
Non Tax adjustment section shows the same "Irish life" amount as negative with B letter next to it.

As December 2017, BIK section shows the total price of the health insurance on my payslip.

So every month let's say €100 is shown for Health Insurance and as the end of the December BIK is €1200 (100 * 12)

If I am NOT mistaken, my employer said "we pay the health insurance and you pay the taxes".

    My questions:

1-) Should I write this BIK amount as Health Insurance relief section of Form 12 at revenue? I don't use any other benefits from my employer.

2-) Am I supposed to pay extra taxes (will I owe money) if I state this as Health Insurance relief? Or does it mean I am entitled to get some tax refund?

I can live with not getting any money back but I don't want to owe some money to State.

    Thanks!

Check with your payroll department but it's more than likely that you are paying the bik tax through your wages

Also the tax relief on Health Insurance is usually at source, which means your health insurance premium already has the tax relief deducted so there is nothing to claim back. Whoever does the payroll at your work should be able to check this for you
