How quickly does your club publish results?

It has to be the most annoying thing, when you have a score at the weekend and by the following Tuesday, you still have no idea whether you won the overall, or were pipped for a prize altogether.

I'd imagine checking cards and updating clubs websites is a thankless task, but it's a real draw back of competitive golf in the modern age where information can be so slow.

99% of the time my club's results are published on the same day of the competition. When I took over the PRO role at my club I made sure that was the case because, as you say yourself, it's very annoying when you play in a competition and the results aren't published for a few days.

Our weekend comps have results up on the evening of the event. Mid week comps not quite as prompt but up within a day or two.

Our comp secretary closes out the competition once all competitors are in, he usually plays himself in the final 4 ball himself. I think he said it takes 20-30 minutes to close out and then he click a button that publishes it to GUI (and howdidido).
So the results are on Howdidido app this time of year about 30 minutes after dark and in summertime it'll be on about 10 - 11pm depending on if people are playing late.

Usually within an hour of the comp closing in our place. We then get a push notification that opens the full results on the club's app.

    Generally that evening on howdidido.

Saturday results are usually out that night, Sunday's can sometimes be the following day. Funnily enough they're more prompt in the winter when there will be somebody around at close of play. In the summertime its harder to get people to commit to doing results when they have to stay on a Saturday night til maybe 10.30pm.

I often think some members don't realise just what goes into getting their results out on time, they b1tch about it if they're a day late but won't lift a finger to help at the same time.

From what I've seen and experienced, it usually starts with a panel of 10/12 people at the start of the season who say they'll help out with results, and by May it'll be the same 3 or 4 people doing the results/cards every single weekend. Someone always has something on !

Night of the comp on the club house notice board. Usually takes a day for them to go up on the website.

We have a group of Volunteers who each undertake to do the cards for 2 comps in the summer. On their week they would usually play in one of the last groups to be round at close of comp.

As a reward at the end of the season they are all brought away for a day playing on a top course

in my old club we got push notifications through HDID every saturday night for the saturday comp.
for thursday stableford, it was usually friday afternoon/evening.
Sunday comps didn't have big numbers but usually we waited until wednesday.

In my new club, they update facebook with the winners in the evening of the comp. HDID gets updated around the same time too.

The difference i believe is that in my old club the guy wasn't paid for the role and his compensation was free membership whereas I believe in the new club the guy is a paid secretary who handles comps and new members.
