Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else but I've had a limit put on my account. I havent asked for this.

I rang them and was told that their traders have done this not them and they cant do anything about it !!!!

No I'm betting with REALLY small amounts. Its not like Im taking hundreds off them a week. Last week I tried to put TWO EURO on a game in South America. TWO WHOLE EURO. Was told my maximum bet was 1.65

Should I just close the account ?

Ya, move on.. Not an argument worth fighting because they won't budge. Blessing in disguise anyway. If you like betting on football Paddy Power is pretty weak.

Something similar happened to me over Christmas with VC, but it wasn't a limit on my account as such. I was looking at an event the next day and the most I could put on was 6.74. I got on to customer service and was told that the traders weren't active, so it was a limit placed on that particular market, rather than on my account. I was told to try the next day during business hours when the traders were back, and the limit was gone.

Could it be the same thing?

No they said it was on my account. Asked a collegue to do the same bet and they could no problem.

Have you been winning loads recently ?

Or won well on some dodgy game ?

I do all mine with skybet. They're good

I think the question is why you're betting on first goal scorer in 2nd division latin america leagues where the return would feed a goalkeeper's family for a month.

Paddy Power offer horrific odds with awful overround so no loss really. The odd time they've a decent special bet offer but best off avoiding. I'd avoid Skybet like the plague also. Similar enough to PP, awful odds with trash specials.

Never had to give passport details to 365, and I've had more than the one account with them. They're better than the likes of Paddy for sure but again they will limit you very quickly. Your best bet is to open accounts with as many places as possible, or as many as you're willing to. Use PayPal or Skrill or whatever to bounce funds around and use something like Oddschecker to find the best price possible.

Best odds will obviously be on Betfair Exchange or any of the other Exchanges.

Who offers better odds than Paddys ? Bet365 dont.

Have you tried placing other football bets to see if you're limited on all football? It may just have been something going on with that market.

Account limiting happens all the time when people end up winning a bit. I used to work at PP head office and what normally happens is when an account starts winning the first trader takes a look and then bumps it up to the head trader for that sport and they decide if someone is lucky or good if they are good then often they get limited. You won't be able to get to talk to anyone who can do anything about it unfortunately so time to find another who will take your money.

With another bookie I got limited to 12c max on one sport I found it a very proud moment!

Read their T&C's - unfortunately this is allowed. Just get a better again e.g. Bet365 or WilliamHill.

Bear in mine backing palps, obscure games/markets, etc... get your accounts limited along with winning bets.

    All bookies do yes.

They all will ask for ID. It is to prevent money laundering through betting.

If you are looking for best odds, Betfair exchange will beat the rest easily.
Paddy Power are probably the best for specials but they all do specials from time to time.
They will all shut you down if you are making money consistently or just betting on their specials.

Probably best to get your IDs together and open an account with a few bookies at the same time.

Yes I have a a few accounts. Quinn Bet have great offers at the minute. Place 5 football Accas during the week get a free bet at the weekend. 25% back on all losses if you lot into their quarter back promotion. 5lucky 15s during the week get a 15 quid free bet at the weekend.

Ante post is lacking and prices for next days racing slower than the rest but very happy with them so far.

William hill are good too a lot of their promotions are for sterling accounts only though.

Betfair are good plenty of free spin promotions, and you can actually win on them. Won 100 quid on free scratch card last year and they let me withdraw it.

Watch out for Netbet though. 50% first deposit bonus. I put in 100 quid got 50 bonus but cannot withdraw anything until I bet 1500. Always read the small print.

Just be aware that Betfair Sportsbook and Betfair Exchange are two different things.

You will get the best odds on the exchange.
The sportsbook is more like Paddypower where you get specials and can only back bets and not lay
